What this is

AsesiDoku is a logic game: two thousand cases with a single solution, generated and verified by two independent programs. It plays with no sign-up.

Free and Pro

There is a free version and a paid one, and only one paid one. The free version includes five hundred of the two thousand cases — spread across every difficulty level, extremes included — the full daily challenge, the time trials, the duels and the groups. It also shows ads: one when the daily challenge ends, one in every two time-trial challenges and one every four cases, never two within ten minutes. There is also a voluntary ad: watching it unlocks the current week's daily challenges.

AsesiDoku Pro costs €1.99 as a one-off payment — not a subscription, nothing renews, nothing to cancel — and does two things: it opens all two thousand cases in the file, and it removes the ads.

Two things are never locked, paid or not: the daily challenge — your streak depends on no purchase — and competition. Races and duels draw their cases only from the five hundred free ones, for paying players too: buying Pro buys no advantage on any leaderboard.

It is worth saying what it does not do, because that is easy to misread: playing offline is not something you buy. In the iOS app everything works with no connection from day one, paid or not, because the cases travel inside the app itself; on the web, each batch is kept in your browser when you open it, so the cases you have already played are still there when you lose signal.

Payments and refunds

The purchase is processed elsewhere: inside the iOS app Apple charges it, and in the browser the site's payment provider does. Refunds are requested from whoever took the payment — on iOS, from Apple — under their terms. If you buy from within the European Union you have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal on digital content, unless you expressly waive that period on download, as Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU allows.

The purchase is tied to the device or store account it was made from. On iOS it comes back with "Restore purchases". On the web, if you clear your browser data, the same button recovers it as long as the payment provider can still recognise you; if it cannot, write to us.

Use

Play as much as you like, on as many devices as you like, and share your results and group codes with whoever you like. You may not resell the game or redistribute the cases as your own.

Originality

The cases, the clue texts, the scenarios and the code are original. The game builds on the mechanic of puzzles that cross sudoku with a murder mystery — which, like any game mechanic, belongs to nobody — but reproduces no case published by anyone else and uses nobody else's name.

No warranty

The game comes with no warranty of any kind. Considerable care goes into every case having a single solution — an independent verifier checks it by re-reading every clue — but if you find one that fails, that is our mistake and we would be glad to hear about it.

Your progress

Your progress lives in your browser and we hold no copy. If you lose it, we cannot recover it. That is why the game offers to export it: use it now and then.

Changes

These terms may change. If they change materially — for instance if the price or what Pro includes changes — you will be told inside the game, and what you already bought is honoured: nobody who paid €1.99 will be asked to pay again for what they bought.
